I have to go to the place to get the card that lets me drive the car today. Or, this state's version of it. So I can update the piece of metal on my car that says my car lives here. And the sticker that says it's allowed to live here this year. "Prepare for the worst, hope for the best." -- Saying of a guy who had to go to the DMV.

Staminacon ended yesterday, I hung out at the end of the day and played some singles by myself. Just grinding out some ITG 7s, when suddenly... I got my first star rank! Sort of the equivalent of a DDR AAA rank, it means I had very good accuracy. Yippee! A Staminacon miracle!

My roommates host an anime club at our house on Sundays. Last night, everyone came over to watch the latter half of the 1995 OVA Golden Boy. It was enjoyed by all. I think the next series we screen will be Ping Pong: The Animation. I'm really excited to see that one! I didn't watch it when it came out (fail on my part) but the Taiyō Matsumoto + Masaaki Yuasa combination is very exciting to me.

The furries have a number of weekly events hosted at people's houses that rotate in and out of consistency. Over the summer, the big one was Wing Night, where we went to the bar across the street from the then-primary furry house (known colloquially as HQ) for $0.80 chicken wings. Later, we got movie night at the home of the cinephiles, Kombucha and Candle. And some time after that, anime club. Most of these events are an excuse for everyone to eventually get into a rowdy cuddle puddle on the living room floor and do whatever. I learned that my friend Pivot recently said we're 'the cool furries', and if this is cool, then I'm happy it comes so effortlessly to us.

The disappointment of yesterday: A couple weeks back, I bought the Unihertz Jelly Star to try out as a new phone for myself. I even got the help of my roommate to load it up with LineageOS and all that open-source nonsense. And that all worked great! The process actually went pretty quickly. What didn't go quickly was realizing that my mobile carrier refuses to acknowledge this as a real phone, and three hours of back and forth over phone lines, internet, and solo troubleshooting have brought me to the conclusion that it just ain't gonna work. Very disappointing, not only was I really excited, but I spent a significant amount of money on this... I wish I'd done more research ahead of time, but in my defense, the manufacturer said it should work with my carrier. Oh well. I'm not in a place to be able to just change my phone plan right now, but I might find another use for this nugget if possible.

I've been spending a lot of time thinking about what a good pet project would be for continuing to develop my webmastery skills. I like maintaining this diary so far (I was actually looking forward to sitting down and typing while making breakfast -- bagel with a fried egg, if you're wondering) but It would be neat to make something a little more dense. I think I came up with the perfect idea last night -- a fan page! Those are pretty popular on Neocities for anime characters and visual kei stars, and I love exploring them. My favorite band, group_inou, is Japanese and has very little attention or documentation on the English-speaking web. Given that I've been obsessively researching and keeping up with their activities for over 10 years, I think I'd be the person to make a quality fan page happen. Let's see if it does.

Time change helped me straighten out my sleep schedule, let's see if it sticks. I could definitely use the help right now.
